Borsalino

Borsalino is Italy's oldest luxury hat manufacturer. Alessandria, Piemont, has been the home of the company since 1857. Giuseppe Borsalino, the company's founder, is known for inventing the borsalino, a type of felt hat that bears his name. Borsalino manufacturing has stayed true to a production process that reflects the company's cultural traditions, which have been passed down over the generations. Hats are still made in Alessandria using a combination of industrial technology and handwork. The felt models, which are made from fur fibers, take over 50 manual steps and seven weeks to complete; the hand-twisted straw models will take up to six months to complete.
